Last Thursday morning we awoke to the Lord blessing us to a nice sunny day...though still very cold and breezy. We headed back to the Chocolate World for a little more time.
First thing we did was see a 3D movie.
Before the show...
(can you see the tired eyes above?)
Before we left, we had to visit the chocolate store. So much to choose from. Everyone was enjoying the sweet smells, eyes big from all of the selections ( Amy. S....I thought about you the whole time!!!)...
except for me...I do not like chocolate so the smell was sickening to me...
Before we left...
An hour and a half later we were on the road to Strasbourg, Pa. The kids were excited for we were going on a train ride! They never have been on a train and have always wanted to go on one.
Little Zechariah was so excited he kept saying, "On train? Go train?"
Caleb was jumping up and down.
Kaylyn was quiet observing everything and taking it in
Elijah just stood there amazed with a grin on his face.
Katie Faith was smiling with big eyes...
A few pictures before the train ride:
Zechariah is a little unsure of the loud noise of the train...
Katie Faith trying to help Zechariah feel safe...
All Aboard!
Train conductor getting our tickets...
AJ explaining to E how a steam engine train works...
Amish Country...
After our train ride, we headed to Lancaster to see the Amish.
and take a buggy ride. Our driver was a Mennonite. We took a ride down the road to an Amish farm.
Mr. Tom was showing the different things they mix to make the cows feed.
I was disappointed in the Amish tour, to be honest. The Amish are very modernized compared to the Old Order which we saw last year. They have lights, washing machines, stoves, tractors (some still use mules), cell phones and more modern things. They are against electricity but use propane for all of their conveniences to get around it.To milk cows they use the big machines like "regular" dairy farms. We did enjoy the ride though and speaking to the Mennonite.Very kind man. Bought the kids some cookies and homemade rootbeer. He also is so kind to mail a special little stuffed animal that was left behind to our house.
Thursday came and went quickly. Much like our lives...it is but a vapor.
The Lord has been so kind to our family during this trip. Each night as I go to bed, I think of the blessings He gave us that day, praising Him for His goodness. We are blessed.
"For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD." (Psalms 117:2).
Good nite friends!
