It's A Boy!

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret...thine eyes did see my substance..."

Wednesday, March 4, 2009, we were blessed with a "Little Bambino".

At my request, I requested to have a mirror to be able to see my baby born. At 7:21am, the mirror was pointed to my belly ( I had a c-section), and I was able to see the dr. pull out the head and then the body.

"It's a boy" AJ says first. Then Dr. Moore said, while looking at the baby were......" I don't see any obvious signs of Down's...He looks to be a healthy". Our boy was then whisked off to another room where specialists were waiting to make sure all was ok.

His weight was 5 pounds 11 ounces and length was 18 1/8 inches long.

After checking him out, they handed me our new baby boy and I was pushed out to a waiting room were family and friends were waiting to hear what we had.

I saw the precious faces of my 4 other children who were full of smiles, except Elijah, who just turned 2, who had no idea what was going on. Kaylyn, 8 yrs., looked shy but excited, "E", 6 yrs., was up close to me with a big smile on his face, Katie Faith was in the arms of a good friend, Liz, with a grin from ear to ear.

2 hours later I was in my room after recovery and was blessed to have my baby in the room with me because he passed all needed tests. AJ and I were thrilled!

For the first few days, our boy did not have a name, so we called him "Cracker" ( see the POST before this one) as others did also (I am sure "E" was exited about this). We finally decided on the name:

Zechariah David.

His nickname has quickly turned into "Cracker Zeck". :)

A tired but proud daddy holding his new son:
AJ holding Zechariah in his new outfit his big brothers and sisters picked out for him:It as been a harder recovery than the others, but I am thankful to be ok and now at home with my family. I am very blessed to have a WONDERFUL husband who is a great care-giver to me at home and at the hospital, never complaining about my lack of being able to do things and changed all diapers at the hospital, helping me those first few days walking to the bathroom, praying for me in my weak times, even offering me his pillow if it would make me more comfortable. He is such an encourager and help in this time. God has truly blessed me with the greatest husband!

E came rushing to my door to help me out of the van on the day we came home...I thought this was very sweet!
Welcome Home Zecariah!!!

The older siblings welcomed home Cracker Zech with many kisses and passing around to hold (Elijah is not in the picture because he was already down for a nap):

I am doing ok with the recovery going slower than usual but this to shall pass.

This week we will go to the dr. to find out the results of the chromosomel tests done on Cracker Zech. The preliminaries look good. He is already growing quite a bit.

Zechariah is a good baby. He nurses well and sleeps ok. The only problem is he is colicky. I am trying to figure out what is causing this, I think it may be milk products so today I have stopped them for a time to see if the gas gets better. Of course it could be nothing I am eating...could be a heredity trait from his daddy! :)

I want to thank all of you for your prayers for me during these last 9 months. God is always so good to us and continues to bless our family greatly!

Gotta go...Little Zech is crying...needs some "Mommy Milk"......

He is so beautiful! He looks so healthy also - congratulations on your new little one. I had 3 c-sections, and for some reason, the last one took me the longest to recover from. Hope you are feeling stronger everyday!
